ISIS and its supporters have gone to great lengths to have a presence on Twitter, frequently (sometimes daily) using new accounts as old ones are suspended. The Al-Battar Media Foundation account (@Khi_Pr_Bt), which I covered earlier this week, is currently an English language outlet for Daesh to release its propaganda.
But among all their tweets, two particularly stood out for including the very popular hashtag #demdebate, referencing the debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders on Thursday. Of the two ISIS tweets, one is the conclusion of a two-part message. I am including screen captures because undoubtedly the account will be taken down in a few days:
Presumably the inclusion of the trending hashtag was meant to draw attention to the Daesh Twitter and its message of inevitable victory. On the other hand, directing more viewers to the account is sure to increase the likelihood that the account will be suspended and that its user(s) might be traced.
I suppose Daesh is willing to take that chance.
